Ok. So, the 'Marilyn thing'...I guess you could say I'm a little obsessed with Marilyn Monroe and have been for quite some time now. And why wouldn't I be? I mean, the woman is, was, amazing.

In Diamonds are a Teen's Best Friend, we are introduced to the Marilyn obsessed Nessa Joanne Mulholland (where we are drawn into the Marilyn myth by being told that she has the same initials as Norma Jean Mortensen aka Marilyn Monroe). Going on a cruise with her father, as Marilyn Monroe and Rosalind Russell do in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, the story mirrors the film with Nessa playing Lorelei's part (Rosalind Russell) and her father's potential love interest playing Dorothy (Marilyn's role). Nessa aims to set her father and 'Holly/Dorothy' up when she learns that Holly is taking the trip to overcome her broken engagement. Nessa also tries to set herself up with Marc, Holly's nephew. Though things become complicated and messy for awhile, they are successfully resolved at the end - just like in Marilyn's movies.

Allison is a freelance writer/editor from Brisbane, Australia. She is addicted to the fake cheese stuff on corn chips and loves her cat Hermoine who only has three legs (the dog next door ate one).
Educationally speaking, she has a BA in journalism/Russian and a Graduate Diploma in Editing and Publishing. She is studying toward a Master of Editing and Publishing.
